McHale is currently recruiting for a Apprentice Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter (MAMF). This is a permanent position, reporting to the Facilities Manager
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting the facilities department by providing effective technical support to Production in all aspects of machine and equipment maintenance, installation, and modification; perform detailed maintenance, PMs and troubleshooting.
- Support continuous improvement by active participation in repairs, upgrades, preventative maintenance and system failure investigations and investigation reports, execution/development of change control, as appropriate.
- Adherence to Safety, Health & Environmental policies and procedures and carry out all tasks in a safe and controlled manner.
- Pro-active team working with peers, production, quality and support groups to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Assisting in responding to breakdowns, systematically fault finding, and identify root cause and then implement solution to prevent recurrence.
- Update the FLEX maintenance management system, record all changes, stores transactions made, and work carried out.
- Support the creation and modification of documentation to support maintenance and calibration activities (PM, Data Sheets, Work Instructions, troubleshooting guides).
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- A strong knowledge of what an MAMF is.
- A strong aptitude for maintenance and repair of machines/equipment.
- Some experience in the use of hand-tools is desirable.
- A willingness to listen and learn from others in a busy Facilities department.
- High level of enthusiasm and motivation and the ability to take input from others.
- Agricultural background is desirable but not essential.
