Technical Documentation Writer

McHale is currently recruiting for a Technical Documentation Writer to assist in compiling and reviewing technical manuals and other associated publications.

This is a permanent position, based on site in our Ballinrobe office reporting into the R&D Manager.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compile and update technical publications to the required style guidelines
  • Explain complex information, using images and illustrations in a clear and concise manner.
  • Capture and edit images and illustrations to explain complex tasks using in-house software.
  • Manage the flow and release of documents on our database and online portals.
  • Prioritise workflow of documentation updates in a timely and orderly fashion
  • Co-ordinate and manage translation and review process in various languages.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years’ experience in the design and compilation of technical documentation..
  • Proficient in an authoring software package.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be a team player as circumstances dictate.
  • Proficient in image capturing, editing and manipulation in various formats.
  • A basic working knowledge of engineering drawings and electronic controls.
  • A knowledge or interest in the industry would be desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent IT skills and logic and willingness to learn new software packages.
  • Flair for design, with excellent to detail and a desire for perfection is crucial.
  • Excellent knowledge of English with ability to outline operating instructions from the operators perspective.
