Anthony Walsh runs a contracting business just outside Letterkenny in County Donegal. Anthony said he does about 12,000 bales of silage per annum. He specialises in big bale silage and has been in operation since 1991.

Anthony said “when looking for a new bale wrapper, we knew that it would have to be sturdy to cope with the rugged Donegal terrain, which we operate in. As McHale machines are developed and tested in Ireland under these conditions, we decided this was the wrapper to meet our needs”.

Anthony has been using McHale products since 1998. He commented that ” the four lever control is easy to operate and makes wrapping simple to control. Also the lock and load system for changing the film rolls means down time is next to nothing”.

When asked about the 991BC’s output, Anthony said, “Our firm use two round balers, however we have found that one McHale wrapper is enough to keep up with output as it is a very fast wrapper. The wrapper is never more than one hour behind the two balers, which we regard as excellent efficiency”.
