On May 26th, the McHale Race Day took place at Ballinrobe Racecourse for the second year running. Last year was a thoroughly enjoyable race meeting for all who attended with great racing and good weather on the day. This year, McHale renewed their sponsorship of the day which now forms part of a two-day national hunt meeting on May 25th and 26th.

John Flannelly, Manager of Ballinrobe Racecourse said:

“This two-day meeting at the end of May is a very important part of our racing calendar here at Ballinrobe. We welcome back McHale our race sponsors for McHale race day on Tuesday 26th. We are delighted that the partnership between McHale and the racecourse continues to grow and long may it continue.”

McHale Coranna Handicap Hurdle Winner Phantom Prince.

McHale Day saw a jam packed seven race card on May 26th featuring the McHale Mayo National and the McHale Coranna Handicap Hurdle, each with a prize fund of €30,000 making them Ballinrobe Racecourse’s most valuable races. Phantom Prince, trained by Mrs. John Harrington and ridden by Robbie Power, was the winner of the McHale Coranna Handicap Hurdle. While Rohan’s Pride, trained by Robert Honer and ridden by Brian Hayes was first past the post in the McHale Mayo National Handicap Steeplechase.
