Success for the McHale Rally Car at Irish Tarmac Rally Championship

The McHale Rally Car has experienced recent success under John Warren and Ruthann O’Connor as the pair dominated the challenging conditions of the Galway International Rally and the Mayo Stages Rally. The pair steered their McHale Fusion 4 Corolla to an impressive Class 13 victory on the opening round of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship in Galway.

The duo showcased their prowess by claiming the top spot in five of the eight stages on the opening day, setting the tone for a commanding performance. Warren’s natural pace coupled with Ruthann’s expert navigation, aided by the familiarity of local stages close to their homeland proved to be a winning combination.

The Green machine Toyota Corolla excelled in the difficult conditions to climb the overall leaderboard, and adding top west of Ireland crew to a fifth place finish in the 2-wheel drive category from over 140 starters.

The couple backed up this success in Galway with another great performance in the Mayo Stages Rally. With conditions much worse than the Galway International Rally, John & Ruthann composed themselves to secure a 16th place overall finish from 150 cars, followed by second place in their class. Silverware followed for the duo in the form of the Margaret McGreal Cup, the Eddie O’Hara Award while Ruthann secured the Top Female award for the rally.
