KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsive and effective technical support to our Dealer and Customer networks.

  • Carry out product demonstrations as and when required.

Engineering Change Manager
Location: Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Ireland
Title: Engineering Change Manager

McHale is currently recruiting for an Engineering Change Manager. This is a permanent position, reporting to the Site Management Team.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively manage and oversee all Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) from the R&D Department.
  • Review all ECOs at the design stage and liaise with R&D Engineers to optimize the content before release to manufacturing.
  • Delegate ECOs to the appropriate manufacturing departments within the company.
  • Liaise with suppliers for ECOs relating to bought-in components and track those changes through to production.
  • Administrate all non-production related ECO changes – product specification updates, sales documentation, product recalls/upgrades, warranty instructions, etc.
  • Oversee the efficient progression of the ECO through the various production stages and perform final sign-off on successful implementation.
  • Oversee the transfer of new products from the prototype phase to production implementation.
  • Liaise with other departments to understand their needs and continuously optimize the ECO process and associated activities.
  • Create, maintain, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for the full ECO process.
  • Responsible for capture and management of Engineering Change Requests from production and service/warranty departments.


KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong Engineering or Manufacturing background is essential.
  • Degree level qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Pulse or other ECO/PLM system is beneficial.
  • Excellent literary skills are essential.

Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Ireland
Title: Embedded Software Engineer

McHale is looking to recruit an Embedded Software Engineer with 2- 3 years’ experience. To lead in the full software development life cycle i.e. design, develop and maintain embedded software for control systems on agricultural machinery. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively and independently. The successful candidate must have familiarity with electronic circuitry to the degree necessary to test and debug software functions on target hardware.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems using C.
  • Analyse, monitor and enhance the efficiency and stability of embedded systems.
  • Proactively review and recommend improvements to existing system designs.
  • Management of software repositories using the ‘Git’ version control system.
  • Issue tracking and project management using ‘JIRA’ software.
  • Participate in design and code review process with other software engineers.
  • Collaborate with engineers and service personnel to debug and resolve software issues.
  • Liaise with customers to understand and interpret their needs and address issues.
  • Perform modifications on existing embedded software to add improved functionality.
  • Follow standards and industry best practices to improve system performance and safety including unit testing and compliance with MISRA C guidelines.
  • System testing and debugging skills.
  • Create daily documentation of software code changes including state chart diagrams.
  • Create technical specification documents for software.
  • Provide technical assistance to other engineers as required.
  • Provide production support when necessary.
  • Interface with electronic hardware design and development teams.
  • Interface with design engineers to plan and develop new products.
  • Attend occasional field test sessions near the factory in Ballinrobe.
  • On rare occasions it may be necessary to travel to a customer site to debug a software issue.
  • Occasional travel to electronic hardware supplier premises for meetings and training.
  • Attend machinery trade shows and software test events.
  • Complete detailed work sheets for each working day.


KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrable experience of software design in embedded systems and real-time applications, particularly in embedded C.
  • Experience with hardware/software debugging equipment.
  • Good knowledge of hardware design, micro-controllers and electronics.
  • Knowledge of CAN bus systems and communication protocols is an advantage but not essential.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python is also an advantage but not essential.

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

A level 7 or preferably a level 8 degree in a technical, science or engineering discipline within any of the following areas: software engineering, IT, Computer science, Maths, Electronics, Applied Physics.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage and oversee the Quality Management System for ISO 9001:2015.
  • Lead the Internal Quality Audit process in line with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
  • Oversee the management of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for the Quality Management System.
  • Manage the Engineering Change Process within Production.
  • Ensure timely management of internal and external product nonconformities. Effectively manage supplier nonconformities and returns.
  • Lead, manage and develop the Site Quality Team.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement activities in department wide processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Support NPI projects working closely with other departments to ensure successful introduction into Production.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators, in line with Company objectives, to drive business improvements across the site.

 


Key Skills & Experience:

  • Degree level qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing related subject (preferred), or equivalent.
  • Strong experience leading a Quality function within a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated success.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Logistics

  • Check inventory, create, and maintain load lists and logistical requirements.
  • Plan domestic and export logistics.
  • Generate purchase orders for all freight and checking any freight invoice queries.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation to customers
  • Process export customs documentation
  • Follow through to ensure timely completion of all documentation at each stage of the shipment
  • Deal with customer/warehouse queries

 

Sales Support & Product Administration

  • Support general and accurate data entry on multiple systems.
  • Plan and manage the daily production schedule.
  • Provide daily assistance and correspondence with Sales Representatives and customers in several countries daily.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Market Support - France
Location: Market Support - France
Title: Market Support – France

McHale is looking to recruit a self-motivated person to support their dealer network in France. The position is based in France full time. Initial training will be provided in Ireland and then on the job training and mentoring will be provided in both France and Ireland.

The job will involve dealing with the dealer network in France on a daily basis and also liaising with end users. This would be in the form of sales, technical support and product demonstrations. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person, to work with an established brand.
